What is IV nutrition?
Intravenous Nutrient Therapy is a method of feeding vitamins, minerals, and other natural therapeutic substances directly into the bloodstream and cells, bypassing the digestive tract, where many nutrients may be partially or fully lost due to higher than normal blood levels of specified nutrients, which have been shown by the scientific literature to be effective in the treatment of many conditions and disease processes.
Therapeutic Applications
There are a wide range of clinical conditions that can be successfully treated with nutrient therapy and have had proven favorable responses documented in numerous scientific literature. These conditions include: Hypertension, Asthma, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Migraine, Depression, Cardiovascular Disease, Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, Seasonal Allergies, Athletic Performance, Cancer, HIV Infection, Congestive Heart Failure, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Neuropathy, and Diabetes.
Safety of IV Nutrient Therapy
Intravenous Nutrient Therapy tailors its treatments mainly from the body of scientific evidence specific to the given condition. We only use therapies shown to have a minimal of side effects, and we customize our IV infusions in consultation with some of the world’s leading authorities in this field of medicine. Some patients may have a fear of needles, but we do everything possible to create a warm, comfortable, relaxing environment for our patients while they receive their infusions.
It is sometimes necessary to increase the rate or dose of infusion to produce a sensation of heat in the chest and groin area to increase benefits and effectiveness.
Visual acuity and color perception becomes sharper after each infusion.
Patients receiving IVs for infections and detoxification situations may experience a adie-off” of organisms and a transient increase in symptoms. This phenomenon, known as ‘Herxheimer Response’ and is mistaken for a failure of IV Therapies.
Exacerbations are short-lived and managed easily with a reduction in the dosage of the nutrients in the IV.
It has been discovered that the high-dose if intravenous Vitamin C (12 grams or higher) will cause a ‘False Positive’ on finger stick blood glucose strips read on a uGlucometer” within four hours after receiving the Vitamin C infusion. If blood is taken from a vein and run on serum in a laboratory, there is no interference. Because of the similarity in the molecular structures of Vitamin C and glucose, the strips are reading high levels of ascorbate as glucose.
Again, it is a “False Positive on the strips—the blood glucose does NOT change.
